Hot Vinyasa Yoga

Detoxification at its best. Feel the heat, whilst embracing this dynamic yoga practise

Vinyasa Yoga is a sequence of postures taught in a flow by linking movement and breath, and allows for a lot of variety. Vinyasa is the Sanskrit word for ‘connection’. We can interpret this as a connection between movement and breath. Classes are physically challenging and students are encouraged to work at their own pace. Hot Vinyasa is performed in a heated room. Note: Drink plenty of water before, during and after your practice. Wear less clothing than you normally would for other kinds of yoga. We would suggest pregnant women speak to their doctor first before joining a heated yoga class.

Why is it good for me?

A heated environment increases your pulse rate and metabolism and allows your blood vessels to become more flexible. That makes circulation easier and increases blood flow to the limbs. Sweating promotes detoxification and elimination through your skin, which is the bodies largest eliminating organ. The heat produces a fluid-like stretch allowing for greater range of movement in joints, muscles, ligaments and other supporting structures of the body.

What will I do?

The breath becomes is an important component of Vinyasa because your teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. You will focus the mind on the breath to settle the mind.

What should I bring?

All you need is comfortable workout clothes and something warm to wear during relaxation. Yoga mats are optional, we have them for you or you can of course bring your own. We do ask that you cover our mats in a towel. You may bring your own, or these can be purchased at reception
